Hello! My Name is Kaian

Kaian’s birth is the first birth I have ever photographed and it is one that I will never forget. First, I have to send a big thank you to my friend Daniela for referring Miriam to me. Daniela told a few of her maternity clients that I was heading into birth photography and offering a free session. Miriam being a scrapbooker understood the meaning of having photos to document special moments and was all for it. She and I were introduced to each other via e-mail and that was the beginning of her birth story with me. You might remember Miriam from a maternity session I did with Daniela a couple months back. You can check them out here. It was so hard for me not to write about photographing her birth. I just wanted to tell everyone! When I met with Miriam and Rob in person the day of the maternity session I day I had such a good vibe from them. They are such kind hearted people and so down to earth. I just knew that we were going to have a good time together.  It was a week before Miriam’s due date that I got a text from Rob late one night, that her water broke. I calmly texted back that when they were all settled in to let me know what Miriam was dialated. I was going to gauge how quickly I should be getting ready to how many cm she was dialted. Seconds later Rob texted me back that she was 5. 5! What?!?! Totally not was I was expecting. I jumped up grabbed all my gear together, well actually Carson grabbed all my gear together while I brushed my teeth and got ready to go. Didn’t want to go into the labour and delivery with funky breath.;)

Well to make a long story short Miriam was the perfect first client. Her labour was so fast. I was so impressed at how she handled each contraction. On of my favorite moments was when she was telling me a story about what she was doing earlier on in the day suddenly a contraction came on, she worked through it and then once it was over she picked up in the story where she left of. There is no way you would have caught me doing that. I didn’t want to talk at all during my labor and if you tried I’m sure you got THE LOOK. Miriam was a pillar of strength. And I can’t forget Rob. He was such an attentive husband. Payed close attention to Miriam at every second. It was so sweet. The moment I cried was when Rob saw Kaian for the first time and tears welled up in his eyes. He had that look. Moms, you know what I’m talking about. The look your husbands get when they see your baby for the time. *SIGH*

Ok, enough of my rambling. I could go on about that evening. Don’t forget I’m offering 3 free birth photography session so please contact me if this is something you would like to do before the spots fill up.

Here are just a few photos of sweet baby Kain’s birth. Don’t forget to check out the newborn session that Daniela did. Check it out here.

Stay tuned for the slideshow!

Hello World! Welcome to my new blog-site!

Hello! My name is Simone. Welcome to my brand spankin’ new Birth Photography blog-site! I’m so excited to finally share this with you all. Birth Photography is something I’ve wanted to venture into for a while and with the support of my wonderful husband and fellow friends I have decided to take the plunge and I’m so happy that I have. I have already photographed a birth and while there were so many emotions involved I know this is a road I definitely want journey on. I only wish I could have had this special moment documented when I had my children.

Since this is new territory for me, I’m in the process of building up my portfolio and offering *3 free birthing sessions*. If you or anybody you know is expecting and would like to document this momentus occasion please contact me and I would be more than happy to grab a coffee, tea or piece of chocolate cake (because really… what pregnant lady can resist chocolate cake?) to discuss photographing your little one’s arrival.

Stay tuned tomorrow to see a just few pics of my very first birth…well not mine. My client’s. Uh, you get the picture.;)
